Welcome to CV Bright (“we”, “our”, “us”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of cvbright.com and our related tools, services, and applications (“Services”). By accessing or using CV Bright, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or using any feature of CV Bright, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are using our Services on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. CV Bright reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old or have parental/guardian consent to use the Service.
You agree to use CV Bright only for lawful purposes, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
3. Account Registration and Security
To access certain features, you must register an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
You agree not to share your login credentials or allow others to use your account.
CV Bright is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized access to your account due to negligence in safeguarding credentials.
We may require identity verification or suspend accounts if suspicious activity is detected.
4. Description of Services
CV Bright provides AI-powered resume analysis, rewriting, cover letter generation, job tracking tools, and related premium services. These tools are designed to assist users in improving their professional documents and job search strategy. While our AI models generate suggestions, final editing decisions remain solely your responsibility.
5. Payment, Plans, Renewals, Cancellations and Refunds
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. CV Bright does not store complete debit or credit card details.
Premium and Pro are one-time purchases and do not automatically renew. Premium provides access for 6 months and Pro provides access for 12 months, beginning when payment is confirmed.
Company and Agency tiers are monthly recurring subscriptions unless a different billing arrangement is clearly stated at checkout or agreed separately in writing.
Recurring Company and Agency subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period using the payment method held by Stripe until cancelled.
Customers may manage or cancel an active recurring subscription through the Stripe billing portal available from the Company dashboard. Unless stated otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, access remains available until that date, and no further renewal payment will be taken after cancellation becomes effective.
All prices are shown in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise. Any applicable taxes and recurring billing details will be displayed before payment is completed.
Access to paid digital features normally begins immediately after payment confirmation. Where consumer cancellation rights apply, CV Bright may ask customers to expressly request immediate access and acknowledge how this may affect those rights.
Payments already made are generally non-refundable after digital access has been activated or a paid billing period has begun, except where required by law or where there has been a duplicate, incorrect or unauthorised charge, the purchased service was not provided, or a serious technical fault prevented reasonable use of the service.
By purchasing a plan, you authorise CV Bright and Stripe to process the payment, provide applicable receipts or billing documents, and grant the purchased service access after confirmation.
6. Automatic Renewals, Cancellation and Expiry
Premium and Pro access expires automatically at the end of the stated 6-month or 12-month access period and does not renew automatically.
Company and Agency subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled through the Stripe billing portal or under a separate written agreement.
When a recurring subscription is cancelled at the end of the billing period, the customer keeps access until the current paid period ends. The account may then return to the available free or no-tier level.
If a recurring payment fails, CV Bright may retry the payment, notify the account holder, restrict paid features, or suspend the subscription until payment is successfully completed.
Any upgrade, downgrade, proration, credit or effective date shown in Stripe Checkout or the Stripe billing portal will form part of the applicable billing arrangement.
Custom Company or Agency agreements may include different renewal, cancellation or expiry terms. Where there is a conflict, the signed custom agreement will take priority for that customer.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, source code, graphics, trademarks, and materials provided by CV Bright—including AI models, generated feedback, and the CV Bright name and logo—are the intellectual property of CV Bright or its licensors. Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of the Service without prior written consent.
You retain ownership of the resumes, cover letters, and content you upload or create using our tools. However, by submitting content to CV Bright, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process and store the data solely for the purpose of providing Services.
8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
All feedback, scoring, and suggestions provided by CV Bright’s AI systems are for informational and educational purposes only. CV Bright does not guarantee employment, interview opportunities, or specific outcomes from using AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating all content produced through the platform before use.
9. Acceptable Use Policy
Do not upload unlawful, discriminatory, or defamatory materials.
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt our systems.
Do not misuse the platform for spam, phishing, or data scraping.
Do not impersonate individuals or submit misleading information.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts engaging in abuse, excessive API calls, or fraudulent activity.
10. Data and Privacy
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using CV Bright, you consent to data processing as described therein. Sensitive data such as resumes, job histories, and summaries are processed securely using encryption and stored in Google Firestore and Firebase.
11. API Access (Company & Agency Plans)
Authorized business users may access CV Bright’s API under specific licensing agreements. Each API key is unique and subject to rotation and usage limits. Misuse or redistribution of API credentials is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination. All API activity is monitored and logged for security and compliance purposes.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CV Bright and its affiliates, directors, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use the Services, including loss of data, income, business opportunities, or reputational damage. CV Bright’s total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service within the previous 12 months.
13. Service Availability & Maintenance
We strive to maintain 99% uptime; however, occasional downtime may occur for maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen technical issues. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from system outages or third-party service disruptions beyond our control.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or engage in unlawful activity.
Upon termination, access to premium features will cease, but you may retain basic access to download your data (if applicable).
CV Bright reserves the right to retain anonymized analytics or operational data for system integrity.
15. Refund Policy
Refund requests are reviewed individually. A full or partial refund may be provided where required by law, where a duplicate, incorrect or unauthorised payment was taken, where the purchased service was not provided, or where a serious and unresolved technical fault prevented reasonable use of the paid service.
Except where required by law, refunds will not normally be provided solely because a customer changed their mind after paid digital access began, did not use the service, did not obtain employment or an interview, was dissatisfied with an AI-generated suggestion after the service was delivered as described, or cancelled a recurring subscription part-way through an already-paid billing period.
To request a refund, contact info@cvbright.com as soon as reasonably possible and provide the account email, payment date, amount, Stripe receipt or payment reference, and the reason for the request. Approved refunds are submitted to the original payment method. Bank and card-processing times may mean that the funds take approximately 5–10 business days to appear.
Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes or limits statutory rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CV Bright, its affiliates, and personnel from any claims, damages, or losses resulting from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
17. Modifications to the Service
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service without notice. Features, pricing, or plan structures may change periodically. Any substantial changes will be communicated through our website or registered user email addresses.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Users outside the UK agree that the English version of these Terms shall prevail in case of translation discrepancies.
19. Force Majeure
CV Bright shall not be held liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, network failures, government actions, or cyberattacks.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CV Bright and supersede all prior communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses shall remain in full force.
21. CV Bright Pathways
CV Bright Pathways provides AI-assisted career, education and skills guidance, including route suggestions, roadmaps, milestones, skills-gap guidance and related planning tools. Pathways content is general informational and educational guidance only. It is not legal, immigration, financial, medical, regulatory, admissions or professional career advice, and it does not guarantee employment, admission, qualification, funding, salary, licensing or any other outcome.
You are responsible for checking important requirements with the relevant employer, university, college, school, professional body, regulator, government department, training provider or other official source before acting.
Pathways plan allowances, feature availability and generation limits are account-bound and may depend on the active Free, Silver, Gold or Institution-funded entitlement shown in the Service.
Paid individual Pathways subscriptions may be offered on monthly or annual billing terms. Where a subscription automatically renews, the renewal frequency, amount and cancellation terms are shown before payment and in Stripe billing.
Milestones, reminders, archived goals and generated roadmaps are organisational tools and do not constitute a promise that a route is available, suitable or achievable.
22. CV Bright Pathways for Education
CV Bright Pathways for Education provides Institution workspaces for approved schools, colleges, universities and other eligible education organisations. Institution access may include student seat allocations, staff roles, cohorts, invitations, aggregate engagement information, billing controls and Institution-funded Pathways access.
An Institution application must be submitted using accurate information by a person authorised to act for the organisation. CV Bright may verify information using the organisation's website, email/domain checks, public records and official education or company registers where appropriate.
Approval is not automatic. CV Bright may request additional information, place an application under review, approve it, reject it, suspend access or withdraw access where reasonably necessary for security, eligibility, fraud prevention, legal compliance or misuse of the Service.
The Institution workspace owner is responsible for assigning appropriate staff roles and for ensuring that staff accounts are used only by authorised personnel. Staff permissions may include Owner, Institution Admin, Careers Adviser and Viewer access.
Institutions are responsible for ensuring that they have an appropriate lawful basis, authority and any required notices or consents before adding, importing, inviting or managing student or staff personal data through the Service.
Student and staff invitations are account-bound, may expire, and may require the invited email address and/or email verification before access is activated.
23. Education Billing, Package Changes and Enterprise
Education Pilot is a fixed-term one-time licence where offered. Starter, Growth and Campus are recurring annual subscriptions unless the checkout states otherwise. Current prices, capacity, taxes and billing terms are shown before payment.
Recurring Education subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and access remains available until that date.
Package upgrades or downgrades may involve Stripe proration, credits or additional payment. CV Bright may block a downgrade when current student or staff usage exceeds the target package capacity.
Increasing to capacity already included in an active package does not by itself change the package price where the Service expressly identifies that capacity as included.
Enterprise estimates are indicative only and are not binding offers. A final Enterprise price, student capacity, staff capacity and commercial terms become eligible for activation only after CV Bright review. Enterprise capacity is granted only after the required Stripe payment or subscription confirmation is successfully received.
If a recurring payment fails, CV Bright may provide a protected payment-recovery period, restrict paid functionality or suspend operational workspace access while preserving Institution records. Restoring access may require payment, payment-method correction or another supported recovery action.
24. Institution-Funded Student Access
An Institution may fund Pathways access for invited students. Institution-funded features are linked to the relevant Institution membership and licence. If the Institution removes a student, the Institution licence ends, the workspace is suspended, or funded eligibility otherwise ends, Institution-funded benefits may be reduced, paused or removed. Where the student also has a separate personal CV Bright or Pathways account, any independent rights or entitlements on that account are governed by the applicable personal plan and these Terms.
25. Service Providers, Authentication and Transactional Communications
CV Bright relies on third-party providers to operate parts of the Service, including Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and database services, Stripe for payments and billing, OpenAI for requested AI processing, Resend for transactional email, Zoho Mail for support communications, and hosting or infrastructure providers. Availability of a third-party service may affect the corresponding CV Bright feature.
Account verification, password resets, secure sign-in links, Institution invitations, student invitations, billing notices, reminder emails and security messages are transactional service communications. They may be sent where necessary to provide, secure or administer the Service and are separate from optional marketing.
